Tiny Angel Wings crochet pattern

They make perfect appliques that can be sewn on by hand or machine. Add some ornament hooks and they are perfect on a tree. Earring hooks or loops make fantastic earrings! Try them out. Materials:
Crochet Thread- Aunt Lydia’s Natural/Gold Size 5
Steel Crochet Hook Size 4/2.00mm, scissors, large thread needle or darning needle, ornament hooks/ earring hooks or loops

Notes:  Work back and forth, across the top, around the corners and sometimes down the other side. Chain 2 does not count as a stitch throughout this pattern.

Gauge:  Not crucial for this pattern.

Difficulty:  Experienced

Finished Project:  2.5″ long

Stitch Guide in American Terms:

SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – treble/ triple crochet

Instruction:

Make 2
R1:  Chain 31, sc 30, chain 1, turn

r1R2:  Hdc across, chain 1, turn (30sts)

r2

R3:  Skip 1, slip stitch 4, chain 2, hdc into same stitch as the last slip stitch, hdc 25 across, chain 1, turn – 26 sts

NOTE: My picture only has a slip stitch of 3 so don’t let that throw you.

r3 begr3R4:  Hdc 26, chain 1, turn – 26 sts

r4R5:  Skip 1, slip stitch 3, chain 2, hdc in same st as last slip stitch, hdc 22 across, chain 1, turn – 23 sts

r5R6:  Hdc 23, chain 1, turn – 23 sts

R7:  Skip 1, slip stitch 3, chain 2, hdc in same stitch as last slip stitch, hdc 19 across, chain 1, turn – 20 sts

r7R8:  Hdc 20, chain 1, turn – 20 sts

r8R9:  Skip 1, slip stitch 10, sc 2, hdc 3, dc 4, [dc, hdc 2] in corner and continue working around the top, hdc 9 across, 3 hdc in first stitch working around and down the side now, hdc 9, sc, slip stitch, chain 1, turn – 34 sts

r10R11:  Hdc 10, [hdc, dc] in the next st, * 2 dc in next stitch, repeat from * (4 stitches over 2 stitches working around corner), dc, hdc 3, sc 2, slip stitch, chain 1, turn – 22 sts

r11R12:  Hdc 6, 2 hdc in next st, hdc, * 2 hdc in next stitch, repeat from * (4 stitches over 2 stitches), hdc 10, sc, slip stitch, chain 1, (down the side now, refer to pic) sc 2 where sticks point, dc in recessed corner where metal hook points, hdc 2, ** 2 hdc in next stitch repeat from ** (4 stitches over 2 stitches), sc 3, slip stitch 3, sc 5, hdc, chain 2, turn – 41 sts

Work the next stitch of this “feather” like this: hdc, chain 1, hdc 2, chain 1, slip stitch into recessed corner similar to previous method. Next feather: tighten up the previous slip stitch and chain 1, sc 17 and fasten off.
