My Lil Angel Wings Crochet Pattern

Versatile and simple, My Lil Angel free angel wings crochet pattern is a delightful little set that can be worked up within the hour. Try this for amigurumi, baby photo props, pet costumes, or a costume for any size. Use My Lil Angel wings as placemats for a Valentine's dinner. Sew them together for an adorable Preemie blanket. This pattern is considered “Easy” although most beginners fair well with it.

Yarn: Lion Brand Holiday Homespun in Starlight or any bouclee or Bulky yarn/ 12 ply – 10 oz or less

Materials Needed: I/5.5mm hook, Scissors

Dimensions:
Single strand wings average 4″ wide and 8″ tall
Double strand wings average 9″ wide and 12″ tall

Gauge – not crucial

Stitch Guide in American Terms
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
dc- double crochet
st- stitch
sts- stitches

Instruction:
Make 2
R1: Chain 20, sc 19, chain 1, turn
R2: Sc 17, chain 1, turn
R3: Sc 17, chain 1, turn
R4: Sc 15, chain 1, turn
R5: Sc 15, chain 1, turn
R6: Sc 12, chain 1, turn
R7: Sc, hdc 2, dc 7, hdc, 2 hdc in last st
Continue working around the top now, 2 dc in next st, dc 2, hdc 2, slip stitch in last & loosely slip stitch around the corner to round it off.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew down the long side to give it some stiffness. You might choose to use another yarn or embroidery thread to sew it onto amigurumi.

Thank you for this pattern! I want to make pocket prayer "shawls" using your angel wing pattern! I have made many prayer shawls, and now I like the idea of a simple piece one can put into their pocket. I am collecting patterns for that idea. I have the heart dishcloth pattern, a cross pattern and now angel wings!
