Cozy Fall Shrug Crochet Pattern
Fall is finally here along with some amazing new Fall patterns. One of the crochet patterns that stands out the most this season is this beautiful shrug sweater.
This crochet design is really creative. You can start by crocheting a basic rectangle. With some strategically placed seams, this simple shape turns into a beautifully draped shrug. It’s flattering and cozy, and perfect for strolling amongst the changing leaves.
One of my favorite details on this cozy crochet sweater is the use of the delicate spider stitch. The whole base of the sweater is crocheted using it and is surrounded by a subtle border.
The crochet stitches are really enhanced thanks to the Ella Rae Seasons yarn the pattern calls for. Ella Rae Seasons yarn is an acrylic/wool blend that has a subtle color gradient in each skein. The colors really add dimension to your crochet projects which makes it perfect for this women’s shrug sweater.

It's just starting to turn cold here in the north country so I'm all set with my comfie shrug. Thanks so much for the nice pattern. I loved the way this shrug came out! Pattern was great to follow. I used #6 acrylic/wool that I bought for another project, but this pattern was much better. 10 mm hook. I jumped ahead not reading that I was suppose to put the collar edge on before making the arm holes. My fault, not the pattern. The only thing that didn't work for me was the shawl collar part that went across the lower back. So I left that out. It fits me much better without it. The super bulky yarn changes the way it looks a bit but it still looks awesome. I'm an intermediate crocheter and I think the only part that might be difficult for some would be the foundation hdc stitch if they've never used it before. That one can take some practice to understand how it works up. Once they've learned it, they'll love using it. The rhythm of it very relaxing.

I wouldn't call this "Easy." I'm an experienced crocheter and have had a very hard time getting beyond the first 6-7 rows. For one thing, the Foundation Half Double Crochet stitch is so complicated that it took me 3 videos to get all the visual angles I needed to see to figure it out (especially since none of them said, "This first stitch is different from all the rest.") For another, I had a very hard time starting with Row 6. It's *hard* to figure out where the ch-1 spaces are, because they leave no opening at all. I've had to tear everything down and restart twice and then tear down to Row 5 twice more. I would never give this pattern to a novice.
That said, I think I've got it now, but since I have to finish it be Friday night (it's Wednesday night) or give up, I'm really not sure I'll make it.

How can I make this larger? I am a very large person and would like to make myself something.

Is there a way to print the pattern? I like to sit and watch tv when crocheting. Really don't want to keep page open on computer.
