Peplum Top Crochet Pattern

A peplum is a short piece of fabric attached to a blouse that makes it frilly or flouncy.

In ancient Greece, they used to call a tunic or a shawl a peplum. This peplum crochet top pattern combines the structure of a tunic with the airiness of a shawl. Together it creates a flouncy, light, and free top.

The Peplum crochet top is perfect for summer or for layering with the rest of your outfit. Accessorize this adorable high neck with a statement necklace to really dress it up, or throw it on with some jeans for a casual, relaxed look. This boxy shirt is flattering for everyone, and the unexpected peplum detail really elevates this look.

This shirt uses Cascade Avalon Yarn. It's an acrylic cotton blend that's machine washable and dryer safe. It's soft and durable, perfect for a top you'll be wearing over and over again.

I'm sure this will become one of your new favorite shirts. You might want to even make two, considering how much you'll be wearing it.

Made using the basic double crochet stitch, it's an easy crochet project – something even beginner crocheters can manage. Once you've crocheted up this great garment, you’re ready to hit the streets in style.
