When I made these, I had swimsuits and swimming pools in mind. I like wearing my jewelry, but I don't like taking it off to go in the pool. These are originally made from nylon and they keep their shape well.
Made from cotton, they do require some shaping and glue or starch which I do not recommend getting wet. Try them out and tell me what you think!
• Crochet thread or Nylon Cord Size 10- Red & Silver
• 7/1.65mm hook
• Pencil or Skewer to shape
• Stiffener or Starch for cotton (even white glue)
• Glue- E6000 (optional)
Choose earring hoops, loops or posts and jump rings to complete the look and gather your pliers or other tools to complete the earrings. The necklace doesn't require any findings.
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
sl st- slip stitch
For a set, you will make 3.
Instructions for both Earrings and Necklace (with Red thread):
chain 35, starting in 2nd chain from hook sc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in ea st across, last st is 3 hdc
Completing the Earrings:
sl st, fasten off, tuck in the ends or glue them if you will not use stiffener. Twist them around a pencil or skewer to shape them.
Complete the Necklace ‘chain':
ch140 to 180 for desired length, sl st to the spiral, fasten off, tuck in the ends or glue them and snip the tails once the glue or stiffener has dried.
