Simple Slouch or Pom Pom Beanie Hat Crochet Pattern

I have a confession to make. I’m certifiably obsessed with crocheting hats.  But can you blame me?  They’re SO much fun to crochet and they make great, handmade gifts.

You really can’t go wrong.

Right now, I’m obsessed with this classic gem.  It’s a traditional style pom pom hat, and it’s giving me all the winter feels.

The pom pom is a cute addition to what is otherwise a classic beanie pattern.  Feel free to leave off the pom pom for a different look, but between you and I, I think the pom pom gives it a little something extra.

But that's not everything…if you don't turn up the brim of the hat, it becomes a gorgeous slouchie hat.

This makes a great holiday gift and it’s very simple to make, only taking a few hours, so crocheting multiple hats will be a breeze.Make it in a solid color if you’d like to stick to the three-color combo used in the pattern.

By the way, do you wish your crochet projects looked as good as the pictures? Our Crochet Fundamentals course has everything you need to know, from understanding yarn tension to choosing colors, making money from crochet and more!

Thank u for the great pattern. The instructions say that the yarn used is a worsted weight and the hook is a 10.5 mm. Is that correct? That seems like a really big hook for a medium weight yarn.
