If you’re looking for a classy crossbody crochet bag that’s simple to make and that you can use for just about anything, then this is the perfect pattern for you.
This cute bag is made with Cascade Ultra Pima in Dark Sea Foam for a rich pop of color. We love this yarn for this bag because Cascade Ultra Pima is a light worsted yarn that’s a silky, ultra-luxurious choice that comes in at a very reasonable price point.
We also love it for this bag because it’s made from 100% breathable Pima cotton that is machine-washable and doesn’t split. Plus its silky texture makes the moss stitch used to work up this bag really shine.

Purse Flap
Using 2 strands of yarn held together, ch 26
Rows 1-3: Work as for rows 1-3 of the bag.
Row 4-14: Repeat rows 2-3 5 times more, then repeat row 2 once more.
Purse Strap
Using 2 strands of yarn held together, ch 114.
Row 1: Sc in the second ch from the hook and in each st across.
Fasten off.
Tassel
Wrap yarn around 3 fingers 20 times. Cut through all strands, leaving 20 strands of approximately
equal length for your tassel.
Hold these strands together and fold them in half to form a loop.
Cut 1 additional piece of yarn slightly longer than the other strands, pull it through the loop, and tie in
a knot. Bring the ends down into the tassel.
Cut another piece of yarn and wrap it several times around the tassel, about a half inch to an inch
from the top of the loop. Sew the ends down into the tassel.
Assembly
Hold both body pieces together and sew around both short edges and one long edge, leaving the
other long edge open for the top opening. This seam is now on the wrong side of the bag.
Sew the purse flap to one side of the top opening.
Sew the ends of the purse strap to the corners of the bag. Be careful not to twist the strap before sewing the second end.
Weave in all ends.
Turn the purse right side out.
Sew the tassel to the front of the flap.
Weave in all ends.
